At Peak Academy, the safety of our pupils and staff is our top priority. In the event of heavy snow, we will carefully assess the situation and provide timely updates to help families make necessary arrangements.
Morning Snow Closures
A decision regarding school closure will be made by 7:00 a.m. and communicated via our website, Seesaw, and social media platforms, including our Facebook page.
If no notification is provided by 7:30 a.m., please assume the school is open.
Closure decisions will be made on a day-by-day basis depending on road conditions.
Snow During the School Day
If heavy snow occurs during the day, we will contact parents/carers and the taxi firm if an early closure is planned.
Taxi firms may decide to collect pupils early for safety reasons. If this happens, the firm will contact you directly, and we will ensure you are informed before your child leaves school.
Transport Decisions
If the school is open but the taxi firm deems travel unsafe, we will respect their decision not to transport pupils.
If local roads are clear and you decide to bring your child to school, please note that you will be responsible for collecting them when the school day ends or if an early closure occurs.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize everyone’s safety during adverse weather conditions.
